Design, build, and maintain enterprise GIS using ESRI’s suite of applications including ArcSDE for PostgreSQL, ArcSDE for Server, ArcGIS for Desktop and ArcGIS Online. Design enterprise geodatabases and custom data-entry applications and tools.
  • Built ArcSDE database server on Windows Server platform using PostgreSQL. Analyzed existing archival and active production data needs and designed a logical database structure.
  • Created Quaternary Data Index (QDI) geodatabase of unconsolidated deposits. Assembled and analyzed historic data, created a database structure, normalized and imported existing data. Wrote .NET/ArcObjects data-entry interface to support multi-user editing.
  • Designed and developed outcrop geodatabase. Defined subtypes and multiple coded-value domains. Compiled and standardized historic outcrop data and imported into new structure. Implemented editor tracking.
  • Updated Karst Feature Database to ArcSDE platform. Made easy-to-use .NET/ArcObject data entry forms. This upgrade has allowed off-site editors to triple the number of features int eh database since it has been deployed.
  • Scripting of many database management routines, including those to: verify validity and import data from other sources, batch import of GPS data into QDI, scheduled geodatabase compress functions, nightly replication of water well database hosted by another agency, and various quality control routines.
  • Scripted many of the production processes resulting in standardized products, increased productivity, improved data quality, and documented processes.
  • Deployment of ArcGIS server to publish feature services and presented in both ArcGIS Online and HTML/JavaScript maps. Continued management of this server.

  • Developed tools for in-house production including ArcMap tools for parcel mapping and annotation, street centerline conflation tools, and automated tools to download and process data before pushing it to online mapping applications.
  • Designed and developed outcrop geodatabase. Defined subtypes and multiple coded-value domains. Compiled and standardized historic outcrop data and imported into new structure. Implemented editor tracking.
  • Managed application development projects including development of effort-tracking application for the Wisconsin Office of Rural House that included map-based reporting functionality, development of an online version of SIMMS, and a pond-identification project for marketing purposes.
